The 2.5-litre four-cylinder full hybrid performs better still. Ford claims fuel economy figures of between 48.7 and 51.4mpg, which we found to be accurate in the real world. Thanks to the electrical assistance, CO2 emissions also fall to between 125 and 133g/km depending on the specification of the car.
All models boasted Ford's EcoBoost turbocharged engines, for better performance and drivability and lower fuel consumption. Most models had a 1.5-litre turbocharged four cylinder engine producing 132kW/240Nm, while the sporty ST had a 184kW 2.0-litre turbocharged four, and the sizzling hot RS boasted a 257kW 2.3-litre four-cylinder turbo.

I do admit most of this driving is around town 30-50 mph but surely it should be atleast 50mpg?
